Craig Bowman is the Vice President of Information Technology at First National Bank of America, where he has worked since 1992. He holds an MBA in Accounting Information Systems and is a CPA. Craig has served as an elder in his local church since 2004. Craig and his wife, Laura, met while serving in the US Military and have been married since 1985. They have seven children and eight grandchildren and counting. In his free time, Craig enjoys woodworking, bicycling, and spending time with his family.

Hannah has been involved with Rest Haven Homes for 35 years as a visitor, volunteer, and, eventually, an employee. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Pensacola Christian College and an Associate’s Degree from the University of Florida. Currently, she is a wife and mother of 4 young children. Hannah is passionate about the quality of life for the elderly and still considers many of our residents to be dear friends. She has been inspired by Rest Haven Homes’ philosophy of serving residents and serving God.
Sandra Thomas

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently a nurse/office manager for Family Medicine Health Clinic in Mason, MI. She has previously worked in public health and as a Quality Manager for Physicians Health Plan. Sandy is the mother to 3 grown daughters and grandma to 3 grandchildren. Sandy is an active member in a local fellowship and enjoys participating in helping ministries, bicycling, practicing hospitality, and reading. Sandy had the opportunity in 1978 to become acquainted with the founding family of the Pell sisters when her church supported this work and has had multiple extended family members live at Rest Haven Homes. The long-term friendship with the Pell family was inspiring to her, as was the care that her grandparents and other church family friends received here. The way that the associates live out the mission of “by love serve one another” motivated her. She is privileged to serve this ministry by being a board member.
Rick Larman

Rick Larman is Executive Director of Covenant Ability Network of Michigan, having taken the helm in 2017. Rick also is the Director of Pastoral Care at Forest Hills Bible Chapel, where he has served for over 33 years. Rick is an emeritus board member at Bair Lake Bible Camp. Rick has an MRE from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI. Rick and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for 44 years, and they have four married children and nine grandchildren. When he is not spending time with his family as a father and grandfather, Rick enjoys watching football and reading.

David has recently retired from Imperial Crane Services, Inc. in Bridgeview, Illinois, where he served for 15 years as its chief financial officer. Previously in his career, David was a business consultant, owner of an accounting and tax practice, Consumer Affairs Manager for Bridgestone/Firestone, and Director of Store Expense Control for Carson Pirie Scott department stores. Currently, he is a consultant to privately held companies. David holds a BBA in Management, Accounting, and Finance from Cleveland State University. David and his wife, Mary Jo, have two adult sons. They are actively involved at Palos Hills Christian Assembly, where David serves as an elder and in other ministries. David has been interested in serving senior saints since he was a teenager and helped his father establish an assembly home in Marion, Iowa. He brings first-hand knowledge, a passion for serving God’s people, and C-Suite business experience to the board.

Don currently works for Whirlpool as a consultant fire investigator, following the scientific method for analysis. He and his wife, Trudy, attend Grace Bible Chapel in Cassopolis, MI. Don was saved at the age of twelve at LI-LO-LI Bible Camp in New York as a result of understanding the truth of Romans 6:23 and spent 23 years as a camp counselor, passing on the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ to others. He learned of Rest Haven Homes while attending Monticello Gospel Hall in Richmond, OH. His involvement with Rest Haven Homes continued after he moved to the Chicago area, and both his mother and Trudy’s parents were residents at Rest Haven Homes.
Laura Bowman

Most of Laura’s “career” has been spent raising and homeschooling seven children (now grown). She and Craig have been married for 35 years. Laura has Master’s Degrees in German/Spanish and Teaching English as a Second Language. She teaches language classes at Lansing Community College and Michigan State University. Laura is also Vice President of Community Volunteers for International Programs, MSU, and volunteers with internationals at Friendship House, East Lansing. Additionally, Laura is a veteran of the Army Reserves. Having helped several senior family members navigate the transition to assisted living and long-term care, Laura brings a client’s perspective to the board. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys daily walks, bicycling, gardening, cooking, and playing the string bass.
Ronny Philip

Ronny currently works as a Clinical Coordinator for Northwestern Medicine in Palos Heights, Illinois. He has over 20 years of experience working in healthcare operations and management and most recently has taken on a hands-on role with nursing leadership. He has Master’s Degrees in Business and Healthcare Administration, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Ronny and his wife Anitha have three daughters and are in active fellowship with Palos Hills Christian Assembly in Palos Hills, Illinois. Ronny has a passion for serving the elderly and considers it a privilege to be able to utilize his clinical and business experience for the ministry at Rest Haven Homes. As life allows, Ronny and his wife like to travel as a family and spend time with their 3-year-old Labrador Retriever – Jimmy.

Terry Henning is president of TWH Consulting. The firm’s focus is lean manufacturing and organizational efficiency. He is retired from Ford Motor Company after over 30 years, and his last assignment was Stamping Engineering Manager for North America. He has global experience in all phases of tool construction and new model launch. Terry has been an elder for over 25 years and has shown a passion for elder care and the associated ministries. He has a BA from the University of Michigan and an MSA from Central Michigan University. He has been married to his wife, Sandra, for over 40 years, has three children and ten grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, camping, spending time with his family, and bicycling in his spare time.
